I loved the nature trails and lack of people. However, the mosqitoes were horrible. The best time to visit would be in the early summer, as opposed to late, when the beach is too crowded.

Chincoteague Island is an amazing place full of amazing people. On the island, you can spend your days relaxing by the ocean or enjoying a movie at the theater or you can do the daring and go diving. We have been coming to Chintoteague once or twice a year for at least 18 years. I have no desire for any other place to visit for a relaxing vacation. I have heard that the Landmark is closing and that does concern me as it was our favorite place to eat. Maybe some new places will be opening up. Can't say enough about the pasteries at SugarBakers. Looking forward to another wonderful vacation at Chincoteague.

Ive been going here since I was a kid and cant think of a better place to be. There is a beach and shops...ponies and restaurants. It has everything in a small down atmosphere. You can rent boats, fish, ride mopeds, tour museums, takes safari rides through nature trails and so much more. Bring shorts and a sweater, rain coat, extra socks, and lots of bug spray...those mosquitos are bad if you dont wear spray.

One of the best things about this beach was the seclusion. If you like a beach that feels like an actually getaway instead of a resort then this is the place to go!

Chincoteague Island is a quiet place, thats not overcrowed ( so far) with Tourists and is a getaway for all the peace and Nature Lovers. We are right next to Assateague Island where you can watch the wild Ponies run around, lay on the beach,enjoy the Nature on different Nature Trails.

It was very relaxed. My favorite things to do there are fish,go to the beach and go biking. A personal favorite of mine is the Island Creamery. They have very good icecream.A nice place to stay is in a mobile home. That way it feels more laid back and different.

I have been going to Chincoteague Island for 25 years and always stay at Snug Harbor Marina.Snug Harbor has waterfront rooms that overlook Assateague Island and the wild ponies of Chincoteague.If you go to Chincoteague you must stay at Snug Harbor.

We come to Chincoteague a few times a year and we love it! We always stay at Snug Harbor...we love the laid back atmosphere and always enjoy relaxing at the tiki bar! We love being on the water and they rent boats and also canoes and kayaks for exploring.The atmosphere is very tropical with lots of sand and palm trees..the cottages are very cozy and comfortable..we wouldn't stay anywhere else! We love Chincoteague!
