Just got back. Nightmare. Tacky lobby. Inattentive staff. Slack restaurant. "Ocean-view," my ass. Loud halls. Doors that don't seal. Housekeeping that leaves your door open. Management that doesn't apologize for housekeeping leaving your door open. And a lobby-shop that was out of sunscreen. And the VISA gift cards promised.

What a rip.

Ventura is a really easy-to-navigate, quaint beach town. It's an unpretentious place with a downtown that exudes character. The hotels are reasonable and many have nice ocean views.
