Loved Waikiki !!We just got back from a week in Hawaii. We decided to save some money by staying in a Honolulu hotel. Walking to the beach took less than 10 minutes and we saved around $400 avg. Only good for a dayWe've been to Hawaii four times (usually 6 day visits) since 1992 I think. Its too much to see and do on the island to be spending too much time in Waikiki beach. 1st timers will wanna visit there as soon as they arrive. Make a day out of it. Crowded but beautifulMaybe more beautiful than the beaches we visited in Brazil. We went back for our 3rd trip this past Sept. Waikiki is definitely in our top 5 beaches which include Kailua beach in Oahu as well. One would think that Waikiki is the only beach on the island judging by the crowds, though. Crowded for a reason1st and foremost..Waikiki is over-hyped and slightly over-rated, but its legacy is what it is and its not only "the" most famous beach but it's setting makes it one of the few most beautiful beaches. A BIG disappointment!Waikki, well known around the globe, we are so disappointed by this beach, the sand is brown!!! (We thought Waikki had white sand).

Lots of Fun!Waikiki Beach is a lot of fun! The water is warm and clear. I wasn't even snorkeling and I saw fish!! Just be careful though because the coral can hurt your feet and many "inexperienced"(or horrible) surfers go there to take lessons, so watch your back!! Waikiki ok for a dayWe went last year (07) in May for our honeymoon. Its a nice beach compared to others we've been to. It can be enjoyed much better in the early morning before 6:30-7 am. We took awesome pictures of each other with Diamond Head as our background.

Still dream about itI loved being in the middle of all the action- my husband preferred the beaches on Maui because they weren't as busy.
The sand is clean, the water's gorgeous, and I love that you could leave your hotel room, board the elevators, walk a few steps and be on the beach. Every night we meandered up and down the water. Really nice beachAs I remember, it was a large beach with a beautiful view of diamond head. The water was warm, the sun was warm almost hot, and the beach was full of people. We stayed at "The Reef" hotel, right on the beach. Our room had a nice view of the beach and the morning sunrise. Very nice and worth the time to visit. Maybe you will see a star, I did.
