  • Egyptian revival architecture at its finest

    The buidling is beautiful inside and out. The auditorium walls are painted with an unusual Egyptian motif. Be sure to see the sarcophagus iron fence on College Street. Note that this is a classroom building of a working medical school (as it always has been) in an urban setting so of course other buildings are nearby. This is the oldest building on the MCV Campus.

  • Egyptian Building and Dooley site

    The building is wonderful. There is also a historic site (Civil War?) there. But the town and its roads have been encroaching. The feeling I had is the site is beleagured by development. I hope it can hold its own.
