I enjoyed the golf course itself. It was when one of the staff was very rude to me and my party that the experiance was dampened.

It was the worst vacation I had ever had, the traffic was horrible I sat on the freeway for 3 hours and moved 30ft. Not to mention there was no parking.
There was no place that was not over priced, one club called ENVY charged me thirty dollars for two mixed drinks. The holiday inn was trying to charge me 300 a night for a single bedroom.

the beaches look fake. they are too wide and flat and there are umbrellas and chairs set up all along the edge of the water and you have to rent them to sit there. the roads are overcrowded, youre better off walking everywhere. Its and ok place if you came to shop and go to clubs, but the beach itself is no fun.

I'm a single guy and came looking for fun, and found out that this is a military town with a high male to female ratio--there was a huge surplus of men every place I went.
Also found out this is a low-wage area with exiting military flooding the local job market, driving down wages and increasing competition for few available good jobs.
Not a place I would want to live in.

VA Beach is like a sweltering sandbox overflowing with rednecks. I think there is a city code that unless you have more tattoos than teeth you are not allowed on the beach. This is NOT a top 10 beach, you want a clean, friendly beach head to Pensacola Beach, FL. Most people are rude, you can't do anything without tripping over someone, and it's not a dog friendly place at all.

Virginia Beach is very unsafe and overrun with teenagers and gangs! We felt very unsafe during our visit in July 2006.
