Too crowded. Freeway leaving is a disaster. Takes me longer to get out of Santa Barbara to get home.

Nice when there, but beaches often poluted.

it's an oil slick. nothing more. bring a razor and shaving gel if you plan to attend, because you're going to need to shave your entire body when your hair is covered in oil ebbing in with the tide.

This place is dull (might be okay for a day or two, if you haven't been here). It's a very small town with not much going on. Restaurants (variety) are limited. There is always gigantic pieces of seaweed (among other things)floating in the ocean, making the waters dirty looking. The mountains are brown and dry as well. It's cold in ...

Santa Barbara was an overdone college town at best. The food and lodging was WAY overpriced for what you got, and the beach was GROSS! Having grown up in San Diego, I know what a beach should be like. There is oil everywhere on the beach, and dead sea life abounds. The smell of the water by the lagoon at the zoo was enough to make my gut churn! ...

The beach was dirty...very...lots of oil. It was not at all what I wanted. Santa Barbara itself is delightful, lots to see, good food, but the beach was the main reason for the visit and I was horrified at its condition.
My favorite beach is Sanibel, Florida.

I dont really see the whole hype behind Santa Barbara. I went in early April and it was really ugly, the water is green and freezing, there was a constant strong wind, the sand was kinda greyish and dirty, and the town isn't anything special. I guess I have high standards of what a beach is being from Maui with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Santa Barbara just didn't impress me at all.

It's not clean. Everything seems normal and common. Nothing interesting.
