A unique Richmond experience!

Everywhere I visit, I look for foods or restaurants that are unique to the area. The Croaker's Spot is just the place. It is fun and the food is delicious. The vibe is over the top, cool. We go back as often as we can and their booth is not to be missed at the National Folk Festival, also held in Richmond. Do not miss the dessert cornbread, but don't take your mama you might want to slap her. IT IS GOOOOOD!

This is the local favorite, it's black owned and has the best seafood in Richmond Virginia area. Still family run, the Eggleston family.
The fried fish dinner is the classic here. Meaty fish, but you may want to have them put the sauce on the side. It's a good sauce, but some may dislike it. The cornbread and potatos are fantastic.

Croaker Spot Slipping

My first dining experience at the Croaker Spot want great. Great food and quaint surroundings made it one of my favorite places. However, my last experience wasn't the same. I encountered mediocre food and loud clashing pans.

I adopted this as "My Spot". The place I take friends to when they come to town. I'm a native of Chicago who had a hard time adjusting to the region after leaving all of my family behind for a new job. This place takes me back to Moms house on a Sunday after church service. The food is great and the atmoshphere is even better. Dont change anything! Keep it down-home... Whats up Theresa! I'll drop by soon! :) LOL!
How many of ya'll had a grandma that no matter what she cooked it was always awesome? Me too- I think they have a whole bunch of our grandma's back there cooking! I suggest the CURRY SHRIMP it is GREAT, every meal comes with cabbage and cornbread. ENJOY!!!! :)
