Don't read a book by its cover. From the outside and probably the inside too this place looks like a dive. However, the steaks are fabulous and not too damaging to the wallet. The beer is cold and the staff attentive. The only set back, depending on your fellow diners smoking habits, you may walk out smelling like an ashtray. Still one of my favorite places in Richmond.

I eat at the Border Cafe 5 or 6 times a year and I have not had a bad meal. Love the black bean cakes and sweet potato fries. Specials are always a good choice. Enjoy!
